Daniel âDanâ Combs, 59, of Kirklin, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016.
He was born December 26, 1956, in Middletown, OH, to Dale and Eva Branson Combs; his parents survive in Franklin, OH. On December 13, 1975, he married Mona Light; she survives.
Dan graduated from Franklin High School in 1975, and received his Bachelorâs Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1981. He worked as an engineer in nuclear power plants for four years before moving to the Frankfort area in 1984. With his father-in-law Dan was co-owner and co-operator of Potato Supply in Kirklin. Dan was a member of Frankfort Baptist Church where he also served as Junior Church Leader for 30 years and deacon. Dan was known as a great, hardworking man who centered his life around family, church, and business.
In addition to his wife and parents, Dan is survived by his children, Misha (Daniel) Premeaux, of Kirklin, Josh (Stephanie) Combs, of Orlando, FL, Megan (Isaiah) Blackburn, of Westfield, and Eli (Brittany) Combs, of Kirklin; grandchildren, Nathanial, Brandon, Blaine, Lexie, Grayson, Roman, Maddy, Branson, Harper, and Dylan; brother, Sam Combs, of Evansville; sister, Lesa (Chris) Irving, of Franklin, OH; and mother-in-law, Annette Light, of Kirklin.
Dan is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Ramon Light.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 â 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Funeral service for Daniel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Heppen officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
