Daniel Dale Lawler, age 70 of Austin Texas, formerly of Frankfort passed away on March 6, 2017 in Austin, Texas, surrounded by his loving family, following a short illness. He was born October 20, 1946 in Frankfort to LeRoy and Mary Belle (Dale) Lawler.
Dan graduated from Frankfort Schools in 1964 and was baptized as a young man. On November 9, 1968, Dan married Marilyn McRill of Kansas after returning from military deployment to Vietnam. He was devoted to his God, family and America. The family has lived in Austin since 1970. Dan had worked for the state and for his church, The Shepard of the Hills Presbyterian Church, until retirement.
Surviving family includes his wife, Marilyn Lawler; one son, Damen Lawler; a daughter, Danielle (Joel) Franco; granddaughters, Gracie and Emilie, all of Austin; Danâs mother, Mary Lawler of Mulberry; sister Dalene (Larry) Royer of Lafayette and nephews, Michael (Becky) and Mark (Ashley) and families.
Dan also leaves behind many friends in Austin and Frankfort, including Dan Rodkey, Jim Wright, Dan and Rix Clark and his pets, Maud, Ethyl and Lucy. Dan was preceded in death by his father in 1978.
Memorial service for Dan will be held at 2:00p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Frankfort with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place at Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort with military honors.
Dan was an animal lover; donations in his memory may be made to the Clinton County or Tippecanoe County Humane Societies.
