Daniel J. Metzger, 82, of Rossville, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at his home.
He was born February 17, 1935, in Clinton County, to Jesse J. and Merle Flora Metzger. On February 12, 1955, Daniel married Dorothy Shively; she survives.
Daniel attended Michigantown High School. He was a farmer throughout his life and was a member of Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church.
In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by his daughters, Carolyn Metzger, of Mulberry, Dianne (David) Kessler, of Carroll County, Janice (John) Miller, of Darke County, OH, Sharon (Karl) Wolf, of Vernon County, WI, and Nina (Anthony) Ganger, of Goshen, IN; daughter-in-law, Marlene (Marlin) Hege, of Franklin County, PA; brothers, David Metzger, of Indianapolis, and Robert (Maxine) Metzger, of Mulberry; sister, Eva (Melvin) Mohler, of Rossville; 20 grandchildren, and 36 great-grandchildren.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, son, Melvin, daughter, Neva, and sister-in-law, Shirley Metzger.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church from 2:00 â 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 â 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the church with the home brethren officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel.
