Danny F. Thomas

Danny F. Thomas, 84, Frankfort, passed away at his residence surrounded by family on Saturday, October 29, 2022.  He was born on May 14, 1938, in Frankfort to Cecil and Ruby (Harrison) Thomas.  On November 19, 1959, he married Lora Ann Taylor.  She survives.

Danny was a 1957 graduate of Western High School.  A week after graduation, he started working for Chrysler and worked at the Transmission plant for 31 years until his retirement in 1988.  He then went on to farm until 2015.  He was a member of Kilmore United Methodist Church, UAW Local 685, and the Clinton County Antique Machinery Club.  He enjoyed collecting antique tractors and was often called upon to help work on and repair them.

Along with his wife of almost 63 years, Danny is survived by his children, Dean Thomas, Mark (Andrea) Thomas, Jack (Mindie) Thomas, Jill (Kent) Spaulding, and Mo Perry; 13 grandchildren, several step grandchildren, great grandchildren, step great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Erin Thomas; a sister, Virginia Ellis; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 10am until the time of the service at 12pm at Kilmore United Methodist Church.  Pastor Craig Overman will officiate.  Burial will follow at Kilmore Cemetery.  Genda Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made in Danny’s honor to Kilmore United Methodist Church.  Online condolences may be made at www.gendafuneralhome.com.
