Darleen L. Earl Glass

Darleen Lynne Hiatt Earl Glass, 73, of Rossville, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at IU Arnett Health in Lafayette.

She was born December 16, 1942, in Frankfort, to Robert F. Hiatt and Catherine Gregg Hiatt Saltine.  In 1979, she married Robert “Bob” Earl; he passed away in February of 2006.  She then married Richard “Dick” Glass on June 16, 2012; he survives.

Darleen graduated from New Palastine High School and was a graduate of the House of James Beauty School. She was a beautician at Wesley Manor before retiring in 2005. Darleen enjoyed painting, crafting, working in her yard, gardening, and cooking.  She enjoyed spending time with her beloved dogs, Zoe, Princess, and Casey Lee.

In addition to her husband, Darleen was survived by her sons, Kim (Penny) Spurling and Michael (Dawn) Spurling; daughter, Sandra (Rick) Vaughn, step-son, Richard Glass Jr.; four grandchildren, Latisha Scott, Aaron Spurling, Kalyn Vaughn, and Bryce Vaughn; and three great grandchildren, Jayce Scott, Tyce Scott, and Reyce Scott.

Darleen is preceded in death by her parents, one husband, and a brother, Jack Harshman.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 11:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.  Pastor Rob Marcus will officiate.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.  Memorials in Darleen’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
