Darrell G. Shuck

Darrell G. Shuck, 93, of Rossville, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Milner Community Healthcare in Rossville.

He was born August 10, 1921, in Prairie Township in Tipton County, to Grover and Lilly A. Orr Shuck.  He married Mildred Quakenbush; she preceded him in death.  He later married Vera Foster on June 23, 1978; she survives.

Darrell graduated from Prairie Township Schools in 1939.  He was self-employed including several jobs such as running the family farm and owning a fishing camp in Crystal Falls, MI.  The love of his life was playing country music which he did with several bands.  Darrell was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge of Beard for 50 years.

In addition to his wife, surviving Darrell are one son, Lynn (Suzan) Shuck of Crystal Falls, MI; two daughters, Janet (Steve) Hodson of Rossville and Diana Myers of Pembine, WI; step-daughter, Debra Crooks of Salina, KS; brother, Conrad “Connie” Shuck of California; 13 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

Darrell is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Evelyn and Marjorie.

A Masonic service to honor Darrell will begin at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m.  Pastor Chuck Williams will officiate.  Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery.  Memorials in Darrell’s name may be made to Milner Community Healthcare Activity Center.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
