Darrell V. Wilson, 66, of Monticello died February 13, 2012 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
He was born January 3, 1946 in Russell Spring, KY to Zalo & Virda Mae (Wells) Wilson. He attended Farmland Elementary School and graduated in 1964 from Monroe Central, Parker City, IN. His marriage was to Linda Sue Murphy on June 20, 1965, and she survives.
Darrell had worked for Anheusher Busch, A.E. Staley and for approximately 39 years at Tate & Lyle, retiring Jan. 1, 2008. He was a member of the Farmland Conservation Club and the First Missionary Baptist Church of Farmland. Darrell loved to hunt and fish. He moved to Monticello from the Mulberry/Dayton area in 2003.
Surviving with his wife of Monticello are two daughters, Shanon Denise (husband Robert) Votaw, Wabash, IN angd Lisa Michelle (husband Tommy) Morrison, Francesville, IN, one son, David Lee (wife Melissa) Wilson, Remington, IN, one sister, Anita Kay (husband Herbert) Denny, two brothers, Danny Jo (wife Gail) Wilson and Zalo Wilson, Jr., seven grandchildren, Davyna, Kevin, Derek, Corey, Justin, Natasha, and Christian, three great-grandchildren, Kristina, Serena & Corbin Michael, and seven step-grandchildren, Johnathan, Vivian, Angel, Hunter, Austin, Samantha & Kaitlyn.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Melissa.
Services will be Fri., Feb. 17 at 1:00 PM at the Bodine Funeral Home, Rossville with Randall Willis officiating. Calling will be held Thurs. from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.
