David A. Troyer, 82, of Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Wesley Manor.
He was born August 2, 1934, in Sturgis, MI, to the late Roy Allen and Florence V. Hostetler Troyer. On October 2, 1960, he married Nancy Jane Lauterbach; she preceded him in death on September 4, 2014.
David graduated from Orland High School and received his bachelor of science in agriculture from Purdue University in 1957, and later his masters of education in 1965. He served in the United States Army National Guard for six years. David worked for Purdue University from 1958 to 1970, for Eastern Indiana Production Credit where he served as vice president from 1970 to 1984, and later served as Blackford County Auditor from 1987 to 1994. He was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Frankfort and Rotary International since 1958. David enjoyed volunteering, camping, and traveling.
Surviving David are his children, Michael Allen (Melinda) Troyer and Cynthia Ann (Mark) Durr; four grandchildren, Adam Durr, Bailey Troyer, Steven Durr, and Sara Troyer; brother, Steve Troyer; and sisters, Pat Boggs and Mary Kimple.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Pam Ditson-McCall will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort. Memorials in Davidâs name may be made to Rotary International or Wesley Manor Good Samaritan Fund.
