David Lee Winter

David Lee Winter, 68, of Frankfort, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023, at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. He was born March 26, 1955, in Logansport, IN to Raymond and Thelma (Potts) Winter. He married Barbara Ann Black on June 14, 1975; she survives.

David graduated in 1974 from Frankfort High School. He retired in 2022 from Walmart after more than 30 years of service. David enjoyed yardwork, fishing, and traveling but more importantly, David enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to go to his grandchildren’s games and attend church at the First Church of the Nazarene.

David is survived by wife, Barbara of Frankfort; son, Tyler (Jamie Weber) Winter of Frankfort; daughters, Shawnda (Ross Sexson) Hardesty and Amanda Winter of Frankfort; sisters, Linda Walker of Frankfort, Shelby Branstetter of Lafayette, Mary Wiebers of Lafayette; brothers, Raymond (Suzanne) Winter, Jr. of Flora, Wesley (Wilma) Winter of Frankfort, Joshua Winter of Kokomo; grandchildren, Kelsie (Samuel) Regalado, Austin Hernandez, Kody Hardesty, Jacob Bautista, Jade Hardesty, and Jonathan Bautista; and great grandchildren, Carter Regalado and Scarlett Regalado.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by a sister, Martha Aders; and a brother, Vincent Winter.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 11a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort with Pastor Gordon Smith officiating.
