Dellis H. Boggs

Dellis H. Boggs, 77, of Lebanon, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018, at his home.  He was born January 18, 1941, to Earnest and Gracy (Kelly) Boggs in Big Stone Gap, VA.  In 1959, he married Martha G. Tignor; she preceded him in death on March 28, 2016.

Dellis attended school in Big Stone Gap before moving to Indiana.  He worked on the line at General Battery and later Exide for many years.  Dellis later retired from Kauffman Engineering.  He was a self-taught musician who loved to play the guitar and sing.  He also enjoyed Westerns, fishing, and gardening.

Surviving Dellis are his children, Dallas H. Boggs, Barbara L (Charles) Purdy, Patricia G. Cooper, and Janice M. Boggs, all of Lebanon; brothers, Benny Boggs, of Lebanon, and Vilder Boggs, of the Carolinas; sisters, Mae Burtner and Gloria Berry, both of Lebanon; 12 grandchildren, Robert Hayes, Kristie Hayes, Ashley Boggs (Adam Glenn), Brandon Cooper, Chelsea Boggs, Dallas Boggs, Keith Boggs, Andrew Boggs, Sean Mckay Jr., Heather Mckay, Zachary Purdy, and Alijah Purdy; and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Dellis is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dennis and Denver.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 9:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.  Pastor William Glenn will officiate.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
