Donald C. Moore, 80, of Monticello, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Lakeview Village Senior Living.
He was born May 13, 1935, in Imboden, Vir., to Walter and Josey Estella Bishop Moore. In September, 1957, he married Helen M. Shoemaker in Frankfort; she passed away in August, 1991. He later married Janice Russell in 1985; she preceded him in death in February, 1987.
Donald worked for 20 years for the Indiana State Highway Department. He more recently worked in Norfolk, at Avis Car Rental. He was a member of the Monticello American Legion. Donald was an avid fisherman.
Surviving are his children, Donald Moore and Michael Moore, both of Frankfort, Debra Moore of Monticello, Darla (Zach) Smith of Michigantown, Audrey Sloan of Frankfort, Kimberly Winchester of Lafayette, and Mary (Randy) Brown of Frankfort; brothers, James Moore of Mooresville, Bill Moore of Mooresville, Jerry Moore of Monticello, and Victor Moore of Jasonville; sister, Patricia Cook of Martinsville; 26 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter.
In addition to his wives, Donald is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Sidney Moore, Franklin âBudâ Moore, Walter âBabaâ Moore Jr., and David Moore; and two sisters, Thelma Wise and Alma Dickenson.
Visitation for Donald will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 2:00 â 4:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort with Ralph Wise officiating. Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
