Donald Charles Brubaker, 95, of Pyrmont, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in the early evening on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at his daughterâs home.
He was born January 22, 1923, near Buck Creek, to Amos T. and Mary F. (Miller) Brubaker. Donald graduated from Buck Creek High School. On April 14, 1944, he married Alma Elizabeth Boone with whom he shared lifeâs joys and sorrows for more than 71 years until her passing. A devoted husband, he, with his wifeâs help, raised their family on their farm east of Buck Creek. He was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church.
Donald is survived by his three sons, Marcus (Sherrill) Brubaker, of Lewisburg, OH, and Steven (Linda) Brubaker and Jay (Julie) Brubaker, both of Rossville; one daughter, Suzanne (Jesse) Longenecker, of Rossville; 20 grandchildren, 89 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Donald is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Louis Brubaker, and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at the North Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church, ½ mile south of Pyrmont, from 2:00 â 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 â 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the church with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining church cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel.
