Donald R. Cox

Donald R. Cox, 88, of Frankfort, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015, at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital.

He was born September 5, 1926, in Frankfort, to Henry and Vergie Foster Cox.  On September 26, 1970, he married Shirley Gilson; she preceded him in death in 1995.

Donald served in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.  He was an engineer for Nickelplate and later Norfolk Southern before retiring in 1990.  Donald was a former member of the Eagles, VFW, and American Legion.  

Surviving is his companion, Linda Sue Taylor.

In addition to his wife, Donald is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Frances Cox and Maxine Cook; one brother, Ray Cox; and one niece, Sue Ann Fear.

Visitation for Donald will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
