Donna K. (McKinney) Campbell

Donna K. (McKinney) Campbell, 83, of rural Frankfort, passed away surrounded by her family at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette on March 6, 2025.

Born January 20, 1942, in Kirklin, Donna was the daughter of John Robert and Lillian Mae (Saylor) McKinney. She married Richard E. Campbell on April 8, 1960, and he preceded her in death on September 16, 2010.

Donna attended Kirklin School before moving to Clinton Central, where she was in the first graduating class of 1960. She worked at Delco Electronics for 32 years before retiring in 1999, and was a member of UAW Local 292. Donna loved to spend time outdoors, and any time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was always a special time for her.

Donna is survived by her children, Rick (Mitzi) Campbell and Darlene (Allen) Tibbitts both of Frankfort, Mathew (Tammy) Campbell of Kirklin, Douglas (Janell) Campbell of Burlington, KY; a sister, Shirley Kemmerer of Roseville, CA; two brothers, James (Carolyn) McKinney of Frankfort and Jack McKinney of Lebanon; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John R. and Edward McKinney; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 12, 2025, beginning at 11am until the start of the funeral service at 1pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, with Pastor Tom Holton officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorials in Donna’s honor may be made to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Association.
