Donna K. McWhorter, 64, a life-long resident of Flora, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born May 1, 1948, in Logansport, the daughter of Bruce and Betty Smith Moore; her parents survive.
Donna married George William Robinson; he preceded her in death. She later married Kenneth Gene McWhorter; he also preceded her in death.
She was a 1966 graduate of Carroll High School. Donna worked at the former Brethren Home and Help at Home. She is a retired home healthcare aide. Donna was a coordinator for the Special Olympics and Carroll County Chapter founder. She was a member of the Carroll County CB Club Monitor #5 and of the Lafayette Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Donna was also a life member of the Vietnam Veteran Association in Kokomo.
She is survived by her four children, Tracy (Mark) Robinson-Seamster, Terry L. Robinson (fiancé Rebecca Elpers), Kristina Robinson Taylor, and Jeff Perry; step daughter, Tiffany Leuck; fiancé, Duane Simmons; two sisters, Joy (Clayton) Burge and Linda (Larry) Moore; one brother, Jim (Christina) Moore; 13 grandchildren, Brianna Lucas-Wilburn, Rachel (Brandon) Lucas-Kidwell, Justin Robinson, Tre Robinson, Tyler Robinson, Terry L. Robinson Jr., Adrienne Robinson, Shonda Gidel, Cassie Seamster, Jacob Seamster, William Taylor III, Clarissa Taylor, and Courtney Taylor; three step grandchildren, Jerald Leuck, Leanna Leuck, and Patrick Myers; one great grandchild, Kyleigh Lucas; and one step great grandchild, Layten Kidwell.
In addition to her husbands, Donna is preceded in death by one son, David Robinson Sr.; one grandson, David Eugene Robinson Jr.; and two sisters, Connie Moore and Terri Moore.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Genda Funeral Home-Reinke Chapel in Flora on Friday, April 19, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until the memorial service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Jeff Landon will officiate.
Memorials in Donnaâs name may be made to the Special Olympics.
