Doris Olene McCord

Doris Olene McCord, 90, of Frankfort, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Clinton House in Frankfort. She was born July 16, 1926 in Stockwell to Charles Earl and Alta May (Farber) Frantz.  

Doris graduated from Stockwell Schools in 1944 and worked as a bookkeeper for Production Credit at Purdue University in her younger years.  She kept a flower garden and liked to watch the birds at the feeder.  She also enjoyed sewing and making clothes with her sister.

Surviving family includes one son, Nathan C. (companion Cheryl) McCord of Frankfort; son-in-law, Danny Michael of Frankfort and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James E. “Bud” McCord; one daughter, Barbara J. Michael; five brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 1:00 to 2:00p.m.  Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Chaplain Barbara Kinsler officiating.  Interment will follow at a later date at Green Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Counseling Center in Frankfort.
