Dorville Eugene Rude

Dorville E. Rude, 89, of Rossville, died at 7:12 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Milner Community Health Care.

Born Nov. 19, 1921, in Cambria, he was the son of the late Burl and Ruth Elizabeth Sipes Rude. He graduated from Cutler School in 1940 and lived in Sedalia until moving to Rossville in 2005. He and his wife enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years.
He married Marjorie W
hiteman on Oct. 24, 1947, and she survives.
Mr. Rude worked for Alcoa for 38 years retired in 1979.
He was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church, American Legion and Alcoa Retirees Club and an active member and past master of Beard Masonic Lodge 641. A World War II Army veteran, he served in Iraq as a medic from 1942 to 1946. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards and spending time with his family.

Surviving with his wife are a son, Richard E. Rude (wife: Margaret) of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter, Brenda S. Stevens (husband: Bruce) of Sedalia; two sisters, Anna Louise Kelly of Frankfort and Arlene Mikesell of Rossville.
Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Megan Jernovics, Christopher Rude, Kyle Gustafson, Emily Gustafson, Kirk Gustafson, Blair Stevens and Briana Haltom; 6 great-grandchildren, Grace Jernovics, Emma Jernovics, Doyle Bradford, Sydney Bradford, Dylan Gustafson and Reese Haltom; Preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Ann Gustafson; sister, Roberta; and an infant sister.

Calling 4-8 p.m. Friday with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. at Bodine Funeral Home. Services Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, the Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery, with military burial rites. Memorials: Beard Masonic Lodge.
