Earl ""Bud"" M McIlrath

Earl “Bud” Meredith McIlrath, 83, of Flora, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

He was born April 16, 1933, in Carroll County, to George and Lorena Calton McIlrath.  On August 8, 1952 he married Janet Catron McIlrath.

Bud was a 1951 graduate of Burlington High School, was a farmer all his life and worked at Remington Seeds for 10 years.  He belonged to the Young Farmers, Carroll Athletic Boosters, Antique Tractor Club and on the Holding Corp for Carroll Consolidated School. He was a past member of the Flora Lions Club. Bud belonged to the United Methodist Church all his life, and was a member of both the Burlington and Flora congregations.  He loved his family, children, and grandchildren and enjoyed attending all of their sporting events with his wife Janet.  Bud loved his community.  

He is survived by four children, Jill (Tom) Kressley of Flora, Dale (Renee) McIlrath of Flora, Jeff (Lisa) McIlrath of Flora, Penny (Mike) Titus of Flora, and daughter-in-law Diana McIlrath of Delphi; Brother, Doyal (Evelyn) McIlrath of Burlington; Sister, Wilma Jean Brubaker of Burlington; ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents, a son Randy McIlrath, two brothers and three sisters.



Visitation will be held Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Flora United Methodist Church, from 3:00-8:00pm.  Funeral service will begin at 10:00am Monday, October 31, 2016 at the church with Pastor Jeff Landon officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Lawn cemetery.  Memorials in Bud’s name may be made to Flora United Methodist Church.
