Edis R. Brovont, 80, of Rossville, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Milner Community Healthcare.
She was born August 19, 1936, in Trego County, Kansas, to Fred S. and Edith Wolf Baker. On April 14, 1954, she married George E. Brovont; he preceded her in death on June 25, 2013.
Edis attended Rossville High School and Quinter High School in Kansas. She was a homemaker and self-employed wall covering technician for over 20 years. She enjoyed quilting and traveling and was a member of Cutler Ridge District of the Old German Baptist Brethren ~ New Conference.
Surviving Edis are her children, Douglas (Debra) Brovont, of Rossville, Dean (Deanne) Brovont, of Flora, Sherrill (Darrell) Boyd and Lisa (Duane) Bowman, both of Rossville, and Gwynne (Randy) Peters, of Flora; sisters, Jane Bennett, of Florida, Jean (Dale) Flora, of North Manchester, and Geraldine (Dean) Yoder, of Delphi; sister-in-law, Betty Rose Baker, of Lafayette; 20 grandchildren, and 62 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Edis is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Carroll Baker and Dr. Eldon Baker; and brother-in-law, Curtis Bennett.
Visitation for Edis will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cutler Ridge Meeting House. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Cutler Ridge Meeting House. Burial will follow in the North Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery near Pyrmont.
