Eileen F. Lacey, 91, joined her Lord on Friday, May 22, 2015, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community in Frankfort.
She was born on January 15, 1924, to Raymond and Daisy Fryman in Noble, IL. Eileen attended school in Noble and Olney, and resided throughout her life in Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana.
Her professional careers included co-owning a grocery store and mobile home park which included a car sales lot and laundry facility. Eileen was employed at National Bank of Detroit while living in Michigan. While living in northern Indiana, Eileen was employed by Chesterton State Bank and National Bank of Detroit. She also volunteered for many years for Girl Scouts, USA, in northern Indiana. In Frankfort, she volunteered at the Share and Care Shop at Wesley Manor. Also, Eileen delivered Meal on Wheels for the Paul Phillippe Resource Center where she enjoyed the comradery at the Resource Center while participating in the kitchen band, painting, square dancing, pinochle, and euchre.
She had a love of flowers and spent many a happy hour in the dirt, down on her knees. Eileen also enjoyed oil painting and ceramics at Wesley Manor. Other favorite activities were nature, traveling, bird watching, camping and thirty years of square dancing. She was a current member of the Frankfort First Christian Church after being a long-time member of United Methodist Church in Illinois, northern Indiana and Frankfort, where she enjoyed the Womenâs Groups and Circles.
In addition to her parents, Eileen is preceded in death by her husbands, Myrl Eugene Harms, Clarence C. Wilhelm, and William A. Lacey; brother, Leo Fryman; step-brother, Ronald Fryman; step-grandson, Eric Wilhelm; and grandparents, John and Lulia Coplea.
Eileen is survived by daughter, Karen Sue Meier (Paul) of Indianapolis; granddaughters, Janet Eileen Meier-Mohid and Kristen Elizabeth Meier; great-grandson, Daniel Xavier Mohid; great-granddaughter, Zoey Jennefere Mohid; sister, Nadine Maddalena of Murrietta, California; half-sister, Neal Graham of Arthur, IL; step-son, Richard Wilhelm (Diana) of Wisconsin, and their son, Scott Wilhelm and his daughter, Aubrey; and step-son, Charles Wilhelm (wife Sharon) of Wisconsin, and their children, Sonja (Greg) Stanis of Missouri, and Elizabeth (Tim) Gold of Wisconsin.
A life celebration service will be held 11:00 a.m. at the Amanda Reid Memorial Chapel in Wesley Manor on Saturday, June 6, 2015, with Pastor Pam Ditson-McCall officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wesley Manor Good Samaritan Fund.
