Elsie Margaret Lashbrook, 88, of Frankfort, died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at 10:15 am, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community in Frankfort.
She was born December 19, 1923, in Casey, IL, the daughter of Clarence M. and Lena Murphy Briggs.
On December 20, 1941, she married Rev. Paul A. Lashbrook at Moriah Church of God in Casey; he survives in Frankfort.
Elsie graduated from Casey High School in 1941. Elsie worked for a few years as a secretary and bookkeeper but devoted her life to being a homemaker and pastorâs wife. Although she and her husband lived for a short time in Arizona, California, Missouri, and Illinois, they spend most of their years in Frankfort. She and her husband served both Faith Wesleyan Church and Light House of Hope, both in Frankfort. Elsie was a great cook and always enjoyed preparing meals for family, church potlucks, and friends. She also served as a missionary on a Native American Reservation in Arizona.
Also surviving are three sisters, Irene Watts of Warrenton, MO, Mary Rodgers of Mattoon, IL, and Wilma Finney of Bel Air, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Eugene, Victor, and Harold Briggs.
Calling hours for Elsie will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2012, from 2-4 pm at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012, at the funeral home at 10 am with Pastor Chuck Griffith. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.
