Ernest W. Owen, 82, of Frankfort, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 20, 2012.
He was born January 31, 1930, in Tell City, the son of Ernest D. and Pearl C. Holpp Owen.
After graduating from Frankfort High School in 1948, he served in the United States Air Force for eight years where he served in the Korean War. He was an electrical engineer for Delco Electronics and also had a T.V. repair business for many years.
He was formerly married to the former Charlene Hunt and later to the former Stella Ferguson. He later married Madonna Robinson; she preceded him in death on October 21, 2008.
Ernest was a member of the New Life in Christ Church, American Legion, VFW, and Eagles, and a former member of the Moose Lodge and Elks. He enjoyed playing the drums, electronics, and gardening.
Surviving Ernest are one son, Damon Owen of Frankfort; two daughters, Sandra Fording and Pam Hunter, both of Frankfort; two step sons, Brad Dunker and Eric Dunker, both of Tennessee; one sister, Winifred Randolph Jameson of Frankfort; four grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
He is also preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
Friends and family can call at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, on Thursday, August 23, 2012, from 4-8 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012, at the funeral home at 11:00 am with Pastor Bob Palmer officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort, with military burial rites performed.
Memorials in Ernestâs name may be made to the American Legion.
