Esther Creamer

Helen Ruth Esther Creamer, 86, of Mulberry, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017, at Mulberry Health.

She was born December 20, 1930, in Tippecanoe County, to the late Jesse Alva and Julia Arabelle Sherry Oliver.  In 1948, she married Francis W. Miller. He passed away in 1975. She later married Larry W. Creamer on April 14, 1986; he passed away in 1999.

In 1948, Esther graduated from Mulberry High School then went on to graduate from St. Elizabeth Nursing School in 1982. She had worked as a Registered Nurse for Clinton County Hospital. While wintering in Florida, she also worked as a registered nurse at Winter Haven Hospital.  Esther was a former member of Geetingsville Presbyterian Church where she was the organist for 30 years, and then became a member and pianist of Mulberry United Methodist Church for many years.  She was a member of several bridge and euchre clubs; Esther was a card playing fanatic.  She was also an avid Purdue fan especially football and basketball.  Esther played the piano and organ for many years, learning to play at the age of 16 at Fair Haven Church.


Esther is survived by her children, Julia Ann Pearcy, David W. (Virginia) Miller, and R. Diane (Mark) Walker, all of Frankfort, and Mary Lou (Dan) Clendenning, of Lafayette; step-son, Jimmie Francis Miller, of Mulberry; 21 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Esther is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jim Oliver; sister, Leona Hudgens; step-son, Lynn Edward Miller; step-daughter, Wilma Karen Hibbard; step-grandson, Michael Miller; two great-grandchildren, Satine Clendenning and Steven Walker; and her companion, Alfonzo Titus.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 25, 2017, at Genda Funeral Home Mulberry Chapel from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and also one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday at the church.   Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Mulberry United Methodist Church with Pastor D. Harley Helm officiating.  Burial will follow in Fair Haven Cemetery.  Memorials in Esther’s name may be made to Mulberry United Methodist Church.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
