Esther M. Roberts

Esther M. Roberts, 77, of Frankfort, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021, at her home.  She was born on November 8, 1943, in Elwood, to William and Mary (Leslie) Chandler.  She married Alvin R. Roberts on August 9, 1965; he preceded her in death on March 28, 2013.

Esther lived most of her life in Frankfort and attended Frankfort schools.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed yard sales, adult coloring books, and was known for always re-arranging her furniture.   

Esther is survived by her sons, Edward Roberts (wife, Jodell) of Frankfort, John Roberts of Rossville, and Brett Roberts of Frankfort; daughter, Tina Wright (fiancé, Chuck Harper) of Frankfort; brother, Charlie Chandler (wife, Wilma) of Frankfort; sisters, Naomi Large of Frankfort, Sharon Spray (husband, Ed) of Michigantown, and Kathy Wise (husband, Jerry) of Colfax; grandchildren, Lindsay, Zach, Vince, Dylan, Kristian, Chelsea, Kendra, Colton, Ryan, Rayden, Eddie, Macy, and Addisyn, and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Nancy Spaulding, Susan Northern, and Carol Bower; and brother, Bill Chandler.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort with Pastor Jim Spaulding officiating.  Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
