Esther W. Boothe was born in 1913 to Dr. Barclay and Ruth (Jett) White in Sedalia, IN, and passed away peacefully on December 29, 2010.
She graduated from Wolcottville High School in 1929, attended Manchester College and graduated from DePauw University in 1933 with a major in Latin.
Prior to marriage she was employed as the secretary to the Director of Engineering Personnel at Purdue University.
She was married in Frankfort in 1936 to Leroy E. Boothe. They resided in Lafayette from 1936 -1984 when they became residents of Wesley Manor Retirement Community. Mr. Boothe died in 1995.
Mrs. Boothe was a homemaker and was involved in many family-related activities. She was a former member of the American Assn of University Women, a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and an active member of Congress St. United Methodist Church for many years. Her family was gifted with her wisdom, shared concern and love.
Surviving are two daughters: Marjorie Hess (Stephen) Beverly Hills, MI and Marilyn Lavelle (Michael) Indianapolis, IN. Three grandchildren include: Anne Davidson (John) of Columbus, OH, Michael Hess of Portland, OR and Suzanne Foley (Tom) of St. Paul, MN. Four great-grandchildren include: Brian, Archer and Katie Davidson and Michael Foley.
Entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. A private family celebration of life will be held.
