Eugene A. âGeneâ Lank, 73, of Frankfort, died on Thursday, February 14, 2013, at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette.
He was born October 27, 1938, in Templeton, Ind., the son of Charles âJackâ and Gladys Westman Lank.
On December 31, 1974, he married the former Janie Ford in Frankfort; she survives.
Gene graduated from Oxford High School in 1957. He served in the United States Army. He worked at Fairfield Manufacturing for 33 years before working at Marsh for ten years. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Gene loved to go to garage sales and wanted to be busy, always tinkering around.
In addition to his wife, Gene is survived by one daughter, Kimberly (husband, Mahesh) Lank-Patkar of California; three step children, Rick (wife, Carrie) Gates of Frankfort, Debbie (husband, Rick) Hyman of Galveston, and Jeri Howe of Frankfort; one foster daughter, Kristy Fultz of Wolcott; three sisters, Cynthia (husband, Robert) Baker, Alice (husband, Don) Dunford, and Betty Fisher; one grandson, four step-grandsons, six step-granddaughters, three foster grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert Lank and Carl Lank; and one step-daughter, Kathy Gates.
Visitation for Gene will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Wayne Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort with military graveside honors.
