Eugene H. Glenn, 94, of Rossville, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.
He was born August 31, 1918, in Tipton County, the son of Delta J. and Elaine J. Carter Glenn. On October 21, 1939, he married the former Annabelle McQuern; she preceded him in death on March 3, 1980. He later married the former Evelyn M. Fossnock Hufford on June 6, 1981; she preceded him in death on January 30, 2006.
Eugene graduated from Rossville High School in 1936 and attended Ball State for one year. Throughout his life, Eugene worked at Moran Hardware for three years and worked for eight years at Alcoa; he farmed until 1982. Eugene was a previous member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and Fair Haven Lutheran Church where he was active on the council, served as treasurer, and was active within the Church Building Committee. He was later a member of Rossville Presbyterian Church and was active with their Church Building Fund. Eugene was a charter member of the Rossville Lions Club and was an over 60 year member of the Rossville Masonic Lodge.
Surviving Eugene are three daughters, Joann (Keith) Rothenberger of Mulberry, Virginia (Charles) Martin of Westville, Barbara (Alan) Miller of Shell Knob, MO; four step-children, Janet (Kenneth) Kraus of Evansville, Terry (Robin) Hufford of Rossville, Joe (Kim) Hufford of Rossville, and Craig (Julie) Hufford of Rossville; son-in-law, Robert (Carol) Baker Jr.; 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and 9 step great grandchildren.
In addition to his wives, Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Rebecca Baker, one step-son, Ronald Hufford; one brother, Russell Glenn; one sister, Esther Davison; and one great grandson, Benjamin Rothenberger.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel on Friday, July 26, 2013. Funeral service for Eugene will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Rossville Presbyterian Church with Pastor John Everett officiating.
