Eula Maxine "Mac" Innis

Eula Maxine “Mac” Innis, 98, of Frankfort, slipped peacefully into her last sleep on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at her residence of Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville. She was born on February 6, 1922 to Roxie Marie Gunyon and Fred Hite.

Maxine met her late husband, Charles “Frank”, early in life at summer camp, where he had hidden a live frog for her to discover in her cabin. Never to back down from a prank, Maxine had met her match, and they were inseparable until his death in 1998.  They had two daughters together, the late Judy (Jon) Mason and Jan (Randy) Papp. The rambunctious family resided in Frankfort for the bulk of their marriage, while enjoying Florida in the winter months and an endless zeal for card games and square dancing. Maxine was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Frankfort, where she relished quilting and cooking for a crowd. She was famous for her chicken and noodles, pies, and yeast rolls.

As her family expanded, she shifted into her leading role: grandmother. She was loved and loved dearly her grandchildren: Jenny (Tom) Endicott, David (Sara) Mason, Heath (Tammy) Papp, the late Rick (Kathi) Papp, and the late Matthew Mason as well as her abundance of great-grandchildren. She was revered by her family always.

As she got older, Maxine moved from Frankfort to Prairie Lakes to be closer to granddaughter Jenny. Here, Maxine’s love of laughter prevailed. Dubbed the “sweetheart” of Prairie Lakes, she was never without her resilient sass and her cackling laugh filled every room. She spent every holiday at Jenny’s table, omnipresent with a quip, smirk, and the pat on the cheek “I love you, honey.”

Maxine’s funeral will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 with her service beginning at 1:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, 806 N. Columbia St. in Frankfort. A live-stream video of the service may be viewed at www.gendafuneralhome.com.  Entombment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour before beginning at 12:00 pm. Her care has been entrusted to Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Maxine’s family wishes to thank the dedicated and doting staff of Prairie Lakes Health Campus for providing extraordinary care and love to “Gramma” during her last years.
