Eunice B. Demaray

Eunice B. Agnew Demaray, 85, of Lafayette, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015, at Signature Health Care in Lafayette.

She was born July 27, 1930, in Worcester Mass., to Chester C. and Ruth H. Adamson Agnew.  On September 17, 1949, she married Theodore C. Demaray; he preceded her in death on June 21, 2010.

Eunice graduated from Fanning Trade High School in 1948.  Throughout her career, she worked as a CNA, LPN, QMA, and rehab technician before working in home health care.  Eunice worked at H & R Block after her retirement.  She was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church in Lafayette and former member of the American Legion Post 492.  She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, camping, riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, traveling to visit relatives, and attending the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Theresa.

Surviving Eunice are her children, William W. (Pam) Demaray of Maine, Kevin B. Demaray of Brookston, Charlotte Fleury of New Hampshire, Theresa R. Demaray of Lafayette, and Kathleen A. (Floyd) Mitchell of Louisiana; ten grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Eunice is preceded in death by her parents, son, Steven C. Demaray; daughter-in-law, Sue Demaray; brother, Carl Christenson; and great granddaughter, Addyson L. Demaray.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home Mulberry Chapel from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at the funeral home.  Burial will be held in Bedford Cemetery in Monon.  Memorials in Eunice’s name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
