Evelyn Joan Dean, 86, formerly of Frankfort, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at home in Noblesville.
She was born November 24, 1928, in Frankfort, the daughter of Lester O. and Viola G. Long Davis. On January 6, 1945, she married Gordon E. Dean; he preceded her in death October 22, 2009.
Joan attended Frankfort Schools. She worked for National Seal and then retired from J.C. Penny after 20 years of service. Joan was a Pink Lady volunteer for St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital and Gold Lady with the Clinton County Mental Health Center.
Surviving are one son, Bob (Christi) Dean of Tipton; one daughter, Nancy (Carl) Bowman of Noblesville; four brothers, Marvin Davis, Jack (Marilyn) Davis, Gene (Shirley) Davis, and Fred (Carolyn) Davis; six grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John Davis and Gerald Davis; and two sisters, Gladys Vergari and Julia Hobson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 2:00 â 5:00 p.m. Funeral service for Joan will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Monday, January 12, 2015 with Pastors Ed Pearson and Rob McCord officiating.
