Evelyn S. Troxel, 97, of Mulberry, passed away on July 14, 2012, at 12:05 am, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.
She was born December 8, 1914, in Frankfort, the daughter of James P. and Gartha Mattix Hackerd.
On April 12, 1936, she married B. Harold Troxel in Oxford; he preceded her in death in 1980.
Mrs. Troxel was a lifelong resident of Clinton County; she graduate of Rossville High School. She was a member of Mulberry United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Troxel was a clerk for the Mulberry Post Office from 1940-1975.
Surviving Mrs. Troxel are one son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Nancy Troxel of Bakersfield, CA; one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Gene Johnson of Greenwood; and sister, Kathryn Zimmer of Brook; six grandchildren, Kristan (Robert) Hinson, Stacey (Ricardo) Arteaga, Kimberly (Jeffrey) Morris, Lance (Holly) Troxel, Adam (Emily) Troxel, and Kent (Marci) Johnson; and 15 great grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, John, Robert, and James Hackerd; and two sisters, Barbara Newhart and Wilma Catron.
Calling hours for Mrs. Troxel will be at Bodine Funeral Home in Mulberry, on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, from 10 am until the funeral service at noon. Burial will follow in Fair Haven Cemetery in Mulberry.
Memorial in Mrs. Troxelâs name may be made to the Mulberry United Methodist Church.
