Evelyn Whipple

Evelyn Whipple, 74, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at her home in West Lafayette.  She was born February 27, 1945, in Garden City, Kansas, to Simon Albert and Lois Aleta (Sheldon) Gillum.  Evelyn enjoyed a 30 year career as an LPN and loved taking care of people.  It was her passion in life.

Surviving Evelyn are her children, Joseph Dale Whipple, of Colorado, and Matthew Whipple and Kevin Whipple, both of West Lafayette; a brother, Vernon L. (Rebecca Jo) Gillum, of Kokomo; sisters, Yvonn Hale, and Alice (Walter) Wilson, of Daleville; and two grandsons, Aubrey and Collen Whipple.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.  Walter Wilson will officiate.  Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.  Memorials in Evelyn’s name may be made to the family to help defray funeral costs.  Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
