Florence Mae Kaufman

Florence Mae Kaufman, 100, of Harlingen, TX, formerly of Kokomo, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020.  She was born February 29, 1920 in Kokomo to Ralph and Jessie (Watson) McDonald.  She was a 1938 graduate of Kokomo High School.  She married Howard Kaufman, March 2, 1940.  They moved to a farm in Galveston in 1951 and raised four children.  Florence was a homemaker most of her life.  Howard preceded her in death, March 8, 1968.

Florence moved to Yuma, AZ, then back to Kokomo.  In 2013 she moved to Harlingen, TX to be with her daughter and son.

She is survived by her children, Phyllis Reinke of Flora, Elaine (Terry) Wray of Harlingen, TX, Gary Kaufman of Harlingen, TX, and Kurt (Mary Jo) Kaufman of Fountain Hills, AZ; grandchildren, Jerry (Cindy) Reinke, Sherry (Kent) LeBeau, Chase Kaufman, Kinsey Kaufman, Mindy Moton, Terry Ty Wray, and Jane Wray; 14 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jerry L. Reinke.

A memorial visitation will be held Monday, June 22, 2020 from 10am until the time of the memorial service at 11am at Flora First Christian Church.  Pastor Kim Holley will officiate.  Burial will follow at Crown Point Cemetery in Kokomo.  Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
