Floyd E. Reid, 87, of Frankfort, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis.
He was born January 9, 1928, in Frankfort, to Frances M. and Lorene Wickens Reid. He married Wilma Jean Gann in 1975; she preceded him in death.
Floyd was a 1946 graduate of Frankfort Senior High School. He then served in the United States Army at the end of World War II. In 1986, he retired from Alcoa; Floyd also worked part-time at Kraft Music Store. He was a member of the Retiree Club of Alcoa, Moose Lodge for over 40 years, Civil Defense, and CB Radio Club and former member of Clinton County Campers. Floyd enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving Floyd are two daughters, Elaine Cook of Lebanon, and Regina Renee Reid of Virginia; one brother, Donald Reid of Frankfort; six grandchildren, Burnetta, Brandi, Ryan, Mathew, Brianna, and James; and seven great grandchildren, Rhegan, Ethan, Tristan, LJ, Haleigh, Alivia, and Sarabella.
In addition to his wife, Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Rex Raymond Reid; and two brothers, William Reid and Frances Reid Jr.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 â 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at the funeral home.
