Floyd Tolson, 74, of Lebanon, and formerly of Frankfort, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
He was born on October 6, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wis., to the late Orville Tolson and Ruby Attaberry Calhoun. On September 15, 1962, Floyd married Callie Payne; she survives.
Floyd grew up in Illinois and graduated from Danville High School before moving to Indiana. He started his career as a firefighter for the Frankfort Fire Department in 1971 before his retirement in 1991. He always worked as a part time semi-truck driver. Floyd was a 50 year member of Moose Lodge #7. He enjoyed camping at Old Mill Run and traveling to Arizona with his wife. Floyd was an avid auto racing fan.
In addition to his wife, Floyd is survived by his three sons, Terry (Brenda) Tolson, Jeff (Lupe) Tolson, and Jason (Peggy) Tolson; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Floyd is also preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Tolson and Orville Tolson; and one sister, Kathy McBee.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 â 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, March 19, 2016. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorials in Floydâs name may be made to Frankfort Fire Department.
