Fred L. Stinson, 88, a life-long Frankfort resident, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Mulberry Health.
He was born March 22, 1928, in Frankfort, to Harvey Curtis and Gertrude Mildred Young Stinson. On November 27, 1966, he married Lillian Josephine Lintner; she preceded him in death on December 23, 1992.
Fred served in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II as a medic. He worked throughout his life as a driver including Frankfort Bottle Gas, Indiana Farm Bureau, National Homes, Chrysler-Plymouth, and Exide, formerly General Battery Corp until his retirement in 1990. Fred was a 35 years Teamster and member of Woodside Christian Church, Frankfort American Legion Post 12, and Frankfort Eagles.
Surviving Fred are his son, Jon F. Stinson, of Frankfort; daughters, Lisa J. Patrick and Mindy J. Stinson; brother, Richard C. Stinson; grandson, Sean; granddaughter, Amy; and great-grandsons, Ethan, Elijah, Elliott, Brett, and Justin.
In addition to his wife, Fred is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Andrea Stinson Eaton; and one sister.
Entombment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Green Lawn Mausoleum. Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
