Freda Beavers, 91, formerly of Scircleville, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at Millerâs Merry Manor in Tipton.
She was born April 19, 1923, in Charleston, IL, to Clarence and Cora Jane Elam Wickham. On September 2, 1942, she married Ralph Beavers; he preceded her in death on March 17, 2011.
Freda graduated from Frankfort High School in 1941. She owned and operated Scircleville Store and later worked at the Post Office. When she retired in 1981, Freda owned and operated the Snack Bar. Freda enjoyed crocheting afghans and was a member of Union Baptist Church in Forest.
Surviving Freda are one daughter, Patricia (Jerry) Morris of Frankfort; sisters, Donna Chatfield and Beulah Duvall, both of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Jason (Pam) Morris and Stacey (Kevin) Disinger; and four great grandchildren, Mikaela, Aiden, Isaac, and Isiah.
In addition to her husband, Freda is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Norma, Sue, and Lula Beth âBettyâ; and two brothers, Jack and Clinton.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort from 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Dale Brittain will officiate.
