Garry Douglas Pullen, 53, of Michigantown, died at 10:50 am on Monday, January 28, 2013, at St. Vincentâs Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born September 6, 1959, in Lebanon, the son of Richard Pullen and Aileen Williams Young; his mother survives in Frankfort. He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, Bill Young. On September 1, 1979, he married the former Denise Marcum; she survives.
Garry was a lifelong resident of Clinton County. He graduated from Clinton Prairie High School in 1978 and furthered his education in 1990 with a degree in exercise science from Purdue University. Although he was a graduate of Purdue University, his loyalty was to the âHoosiers.â Garry was a former sales representative for Crop Production Services. He coached junior high girlsâ softball, basketball and boyâs football in addition to assistant coaching varsity football at Clinton Central High School. Garry was loving and devoted to his family first but shared with friends and their concerns.
In addition to his wife and mother, Garry is survived by two sons, Blake R. Pullen and Brandon D. Pullen, both of rural Frankfort; two daughters, Whitney A. Pullen of Frankfort and Wendy M. Pullen of Michigantown; two sisters, Karen Chandras of California and Kathy Pullen of Colorado; three brothers, Greg Pullen of Texas, Gerald Pullen of Zionsville, Glenn Pullen of Brownstown; four step siblings, Donny Young of Avon, Gregg Young of California, Kent Young of Texas, Hope Young of Texas; and three grandchildren, Jaynya Smith, Morgan Bray, and Jackson Pullen along with many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Arborwood in Frankfort to celebrate Garryâs life.
