Gene K. Lowery, 64, of Delphi, died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011, at his residence.
Born March 29, 1947, in Lafayette, he was the son of John Frank and the late Helen Pearson Lowery. He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1965. He moved to the Pyrmont area in 1967.
He worked at Purdue University as a brick mason for 23 years and previously worked seven years in the Lafayette area as a brick mason. He retired from Purdue in 2008. He was a member of Local Union 11. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.
Surviving in addition to his father John of Pyrmont are a son, Terence Lowery of New Castle; two daughters, Mary Anne Sigler of Cambridge City and Amy Brown (husband: Jeff) of Darlington; and three brothers, Jerry (wife: Vivian Joan) of Pyrmont, Gordon (wife: Kay) of Lafayette and Jack (wife: Kitty) of Delphi.
Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Amanda, Kayla and Arianna.
Memorial services at 1 p.m. Thursday April 21, 2011, following the 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. visitation, at Bodine Funeral Home, Rossville, Pastor Guy Studebaker officiating. Burial at Pyrmont Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Carroll County Cancer.
