Gene Whitlock

Gene Whitlock, 82 of Mulberry passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at his home.  He was born December 9, 1933 in Green County, Kentucky to Carl and Beatrice (Young) Whitlock.

Gene worked for Mulberry’s Cheese Plant and then was a truck driver for Mayflower, retiring after 33 years of service.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing. While he enjoyed his Cubs, Colts and Purdue ball games, he especially liked watching his grandchildren in their sporting events.

On April 15, 1957, Gene married Rosella Morgan, she preceded him in death on November 30, 2014.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Jackson and brothers-in-law Bill Jackson and Bill Culley.

Surviving family includes one son, Randy (Dena) Whitlock of Mulberry; two daughters, Carolyn (Darrell) Yuill of Mulberry and Janie (Vincent) Johnson of Lake Station; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one sister, Wanda Culley of Mulberry.

The funeral service for Gene Whitlock will be held at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Genda Funeral Home, Mulberry and will be officiated by Pastor Ross Terry.  Interment will follow at Wyandotte Cemetery, Dayton.  Visitation will be 5-8:00p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Foundation.
