Geneva May Shively, 89, of Rossville, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville.
She was born December 31, 1923, in Ross Township, the daughter of Henry A. and Lucy Gascho Shively.
Geneva graduated from Rossville High School in 1942 and later graduated from Good Samaritan School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Home Hospital in Lafayette for 36 years. Throughout her life, Geneva also worked at Clinton County Hospital in Frankfort, Memorial Hospital in Ceres, Cal., and Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru. She was a member of Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church.
Surviving Geneva are one brother, Dr. John A. Shively of Tampa, Fla.; two nephews, David A. (Penny) Shively of Snohomish, Wash., and Theodore J. (Carmen) Shively of Daly City, Cal.; and four nieces, Debra Jakes of Lafayette, Rebecca Finnegan of Brookston, Ann Marie Holland of Washington, and Janet (Steve) Hess of Valrico, Fla.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Cleo L. Shively.
Visitation for Geneva will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service for Geneva will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church in Rossville with the Church Home Brethren officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Fork Old German Baptist Cemetery.
