George ""Ray"" Barnes
On Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at 6:15 am, George âRayâ Barnes, 73, of Mulberry, went home to be with his heavenly Father.
He was born July 19, 1938, in Monticello, KY, the son of the late George W. and Bessie Burris Barnes.
On November 27, 1958, he married the former Trula Taylor; she survives in Mulberry.
Ray served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Barnes was self employed as a farmer, construction work, raising produce and trimming trees. He attended Frankfort Bible Holiness. Ray was very talented with his hands and enjoyed working on cars, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. Ray completed building a second home in May, 2012, for his wife, Trula.
Also surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Donny and Elena Barnes of Rossville, David and Tamra Barnes of Kentucky, and Danny and Kim Barnes of Rossville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Debbie and Donnie Baker of Frankfort, and Darla Barnes of Frankfort; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Jim Byrd of Frankfort, and Lois and John Baber of Kirklin; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Paul and Lula Belle Barnes of Kentucky, and Johnny Barnes of Frankfort; 10 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
He is also preceded in death by one brother, Lyle Barnes.
Calling hours for Mr. Barnes will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 11:00 am until the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Pastor Mark Mowery will officiate. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Barnesâ name may be made to Clinton County Cancer or Open Door Clinic.
