Gladys M. Mavity, 102, formerly of Frankfort, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community.
Born on October 13, 1911, in Rossville, she was the daughter of George and Bertha Taylor King. Gladys married Hildreth M. Mavity on February 14, 1931; he preceded her in death in May, 1986.
Gladys graduated from Frankfort High School in 1930. She managed the Value Dress Shop. Gladys also retired from Mallory Controls after 17 years. She lived in Phoenix, Arizona for 34 years before returning to Frankfort in 2005.
Surviving Gladys are her children, Carolyn (Larry) Humburg of Frankfort and Richard (Clara) of Lafayette; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gladys was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Ashley.
A memorial service will be held at Green Lawn Chapel of Peace Mausoleum in Frankfort on May 10, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Earl Owen officiating.
