Gregory Zinn, 64, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 12:04 a.m. at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
Greg was born September 3, 1950, in Logansport, to Ralph and Mary Wilson Zinn; his mother survives. Greg was married for 43 years to the former Teresa Fincher; she survives.
While at Carroll High School, Greg played baseball under Coach Bob Fraley before graduating in 1968. In 1972, Greg graduated Butler University with a degree in business administration. While at Butler, he was a member of the All 70âs team, played baseball for Tony Hinkle, and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He served on the Flora Town Board and other various committees and was an umpire and coach for Flora Little League. Greg was owner and president of Zinn Kitchens in Flora. Greg was a member of Bringhurst United Methodist Church, an avid golfer, and enjoyed playing dartball and buddy bags at church and boating on Lake Freeman.
In addition to his wife and mother, Greg is survived by two sons, Andy (Susan) Zinn and Alan (Jenny) Zinn; five grandchildren, Kinsey, Garrett, Ellie, Owen and Levi Zinn; two step grandsons, Drew Finley and Deric (Kayla) Finley; and two step great grandchildren, Delanie and Jaxon Finley.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Bringhurst United Methodist Church from 4:00 â 8:00 p.m. Funeral service for Greg will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Joe Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora. Memorials in Gregâs name may be made to Ralph E. Zinn Memorial Fund Carroll County Community Foundation, Carroll Athletic Booster Club, and Bringhurst United Methodist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora.
