Harold J. Allen

Harold J. Allen, 85, of Delphi, formerly of Flora, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette.  He was born September 14, 1934 in Carroll County to Harold and Dorothy (Benefiel) Allen.  He was a 1954 graduate of Cutler High School.  He married the late Josephine Lawson on October 28, 1975.

Harold worked for Mann’s Body Shop in Flora for 30 years before he started his own business, Allen Body Shop, and ran that until he retired in 1995.  During his retirement he worked at Bachelor Runn golf course in Flora and the Carroll County Country Club in Delphi.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Christy Ritter; sisters, Carolyn Britton, Nancy (Glen) Clingenpeel, and Sue (Don) Clingenpeel; step-son, Greg (Lisa) Miles; step-daughters, Teresa (Jerry) Coppernol, Cindy (Dominic) Rozzi, and Sherry (Dave) Ent; and several grandchildren.

Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Tom Allen.

No services are planned.  Arrangements are with Genda Funeral Home Reinke Chapel in Flora.
