Harold ""Pete"" Lewis Smart Jr.
Harold âPeteâ Lewis Smart Jr., 78, of Frankfort, died at 1:34 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at Seton Specialty Hospital in Lafayette.
He was born Jan. 30, 1934 in Frankfort, to Harold and Fern (Boaz) Smart. He married Sue A. (Pletch) Smart Dec. 7, 1952 and she survives.
Mr. Smart was a graduate of Rossville High School. He had worked for Sears here in Frankfort for 34 years in various roles before they closed the store. He and his wife also owned and operated the S & S Dairy Delight for five years. He was a member of the Horseshoe Club at Dornerâs Park.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Marcia Edwards and Tracy A. Jones, both of Frankfort, and Diane S. Wright of Lafayette; a son: Robert Smart of Frankfort; a granddaughter: Alisha C. Smart of Frankfort; two sisters: Carolyn Bushman of Florida and Glenda Harman of Indianapolis; a step-sister: Patricia Whitesell of Kokomo; two half-brothers: Brian Smart of Frankfort and Donnie Gammon of Kansas; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson: Justin Akers; and one brother; John Smart.
No services are planned. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimerâs Association.
