Herman Floyd Smith, 76, of Mulberry, died Wednesday, March 07, 2012 at Mulberry Health and Retirement.
He was born Nov. 18, 1935 in Glasgow, Ky., to William Mack and Della (Cross) Smith. He married Carol Russell Dec. 20, 1952 and she survives.
He was a self-employed carpenter, he worked at Mulberry Health and Retirement and worked at National Homes in Lafayette. He had also lived in Stockwell. He was a member of Trinity Church of Mulberry, where he had served as a trustee, and the Mulberry Community Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Debra (Terry) Brooks of Mulberry and Paula (Rick) Bennett of Mulberry; a daughter-in-law; Coral Smith of Mulberry; a sister: Maxine Hammond; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Terry; four brothers Kenneth, Stanley, Charles and Joe; and four sisters: Ruby Cox, Regina Stevens, Gladys Halsema and Elanor Huffines.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 9 at Bodine Funeral Home, Mulberry. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Trinity Church of Mulberry, with Pastor Phil Whisler officiating.
