Imogene King, 85, of Kirklin, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.
She was born March 31, 1931, in Tell City, IN, to Chester and Rosie Holschu Harris. On July 10 1949, she married Robert H. King. He passed away December 20, 2011.
Imogene attended Michigantown High School in Michigantown, Indiana. She worked for Peter Paul retiring in 1982. She also worked for the Kirklin School in the cafeteria and Captoes Café in Kirklin. Imogene was a member of the American Legion Auxilery.
Imogene is survived by her children, Cheryl Arion, David King, Rick (Ann) King, J. Chris (Mary) King, Cindy (Mike) Evans; sister, Eunice Stephenson; brother Norman Harris; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Imogene is preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Gerald King; brothers, Tom, Clifford, Carl, Chester Jr. King; sisters, Della, Louise and Elaine and one great grandson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 1:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 4:00 p.m., with Pastor Cliff Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirklin. Memorials in Imogeneâs name, may be made to the Salvation Army or Kirklin American Legion.
