Irene Harness, 71, of Frankfort, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born July 1, 1945, in Richmond, VA, to Henry and Nora Frazier Hill. Irene was formerly married to Roy Mullins who survives in Lafayette. She later married Milford T. âTomâ Harness; he preceded her in death August, 1997.
Irene graduated from Powell Valley High School in Big Stone Gap, VA. She had worked at Clinton House, National Cigar Factory, and several restaurants from retiring from Emerson Controls. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Also surviving Irene are her daughter, Mary (Randy) Clark, of Michigantown; son, Scott Mullins (fiancé, Tammy DeVore) of Mulberry; former daughter-in-law, Annetta Mullins, of Frankfort; brother, Roy (Toni) Hill, of Frankfort; sisters, Betty (Robert) Stevens, of Frankfort, Eva (Tom) Noe, of Clarks Hill, and Frances (Jim) Ferrell, of Summerset, KY; seven grandchildren, Randall Clark, Nick Clark, Jordan Clark, Kayla (Lance) Pickrell, Megan (Josh) Hayden, Ashley Mullins, and Rebecca âBeccaâ Mullins; great grandchild, Kendall Lane Pickrell; and two great grandchildren on the way.
In addition to her husband, Irene is preceded in death by her parents and six siblings, Herbert Hill, Lorene Moore, Eddie Hill, Ricky Hill, Dolly Hill, and Annie Hill.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 4:00 â 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Kyle officiating.
