Irma M Schiery

Irma M. Schiery, 79, of Mulberry passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012, at 10:53 AM at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital in Lafayette, IN.

She was born May 13, 1933 to the Late Donald and Ida (Merrill) Layton.  She married Charles Schiery on April 4, 1954.

Irma graduated from Mulberry High School in 1951 and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Gloria Dei Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America were she served as treasurer for many years.  She was a board member of the Faye Snyder Community Center and a member of the Mulberry Community Club.  She was a former member of the Home Ec Club, Young Mother's Group in Mulberry, Garden Club, Euchre Club and a Girl Scout Leader.

Irma was a very talented and artistic person.  She expressed her love to family and friends through her artistic abilities.


Surviving are her husband of Mulberry; three daughters, Kathy Schiery Pritchard (Husband, Steven) of Indianapolis, Cheryl Schiery Rampone (Husband, Jeffrey) of New Palestine, and Linda Schiery Timmons (Husband, Tim) of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Phyllis Douglass of Frankfort, and Sue Good of Mulberry; two brothers, John Layton and Bill Layton, both of Mulberry; seven grandchildren,  Steven Pritchard, Sean Pritchard, Drisana Rampone Lynch, Aron Rampone, Michael Rampone, Cassandra Timmons, and Cailee Timmons West; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was proceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Jesse Layton and Donald Layton.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Bodine Funeral Home in Mulberry.  Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Gloria Dei Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mulberry with Pastor Mike Crawford officiating.  Burial will be at Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort immediately following with service.
